Mara Murdoch served as both Project Manager and Project Architect for the design and construction of a new 12,000 SF childcare facility. The facility provides early childhood education classrooms as well as a hands-on teaching environment for the university.
The building is organized into two classroom wings connected by a multipurpose room, the heart of the plan. A large outdoor play area is also integrated visually and topographically with the building. Wide, light-filled corridors act as enclosed porches, becoming areas for art and activity, and seamless transitions between interior and exterior.
