Wyman Park Kitchen Renovation
Baltimore, MD
2008
Renovation of kitchen in a 1927 Baltimore rowhouse in the Wyman Park neighborhood with the goals of connecting the kitchen more to the outside, opening the kitchen floor plan to provide flexible space for gathering, and providing more storage. The kitchen had finishes, fixtures, and cabinets replaced in the 1990s, but the update left the large storage closet in the middle of the space and a second window enclosed in the closet. Cabinets were clear finished cherry, custom built to provide as much storage as possible. Other design features included cork floor tiles for a cushioned work surface underfoot, a glass back-splash to reflect light, full lite door to the deck to bring in additional light.
